Background:

Wodensborough Community Technology College is an 11 to 18 comprehensive school. In May 1996, the school was awarded Technology College status and the significant extra funding enable its students to have the best technology available to support teaching and learning. The school has superb facilities including extensive computer suites, ICT networked system throughout the school, design technology suites, a fitness suite, a learning resource centre, a drama studio and all weather sports facility. A wide range of activities are offered at lunchtime, after-school and during the school holidays. These facilities include information technology club, badminton, theatre club, environmental group, swimming, rugby club, aerobics, computer art, theatre visits, cross-country, athletics, rounders and also art gallery visits. The school has achieved the following awards: Sportsmark award, Investor in People, Artsmark award, DfES achievement award, Specialist Schools Trust and Charter Mark. The school aims to foster a humane and civilised learning environment.
