Background:
Alderbrook was formed when two single-sex technical grammar schools became one school in 1972. It shares an 'attractive parkland campus' in suburban south Solihull with Solihull College, a comprehensive of similar size, a Roman Catholic comprehensive, and a Catholic primary. Buildings have been 'substantially' extended and a new arts block is under construction. It is 'particularly well-equipped'. School believes all students need arts education. New buildings include purpose-built dance and drama studios, ceramics and textiles areas and a music block. It also enjoys many sporting achievements.
