Background:
Built in 1972 to replace the Victorian Greets Green School, Newton is a co-educational county primary day school for children aged three to 11 years. The school, situated adjacent to Sheep wash Urban Park, also benefits from having its own extensive playing fields contained in which is a nature area, and allotment gardens. The building is semi-open plan, having central hall around which are classrooms and work areas separated by doors and curtains. There are two mobile classrooms located on the north side of the building. The school curriculum covers the following subjects: English, mathematics, science, technology, information and communication technology, history, geography, art, music, physical education and religious education. The school aims to provide a stable, caring, happy and disciplined environment.
