Background:
Established in 1929, this 'large, popular' school is located near the centre of Stourbridge in the industrial West Midlands. A 'wide range' of subjects is studied within the curriculum and the school's 'high achieving' pupils attained the top GCSE grades for a comprehensive school in Dudley in 1999. 'Excellent' facilities, including a 'large' hall, well-equipped' gymnasium and 'extensive' grounds, contribute to the 'strong musical and sporting traditions'. Pupils have received awards for many sports and other extra-curricular activities. As well as being involved in Young Enterprise, pupils have joined the Como Project, which links schools with the steel industry and the science museum to create and share educational ideas and resources through the internet.
