Background:
Opened in 1939, Rowley Hall is housed in a flat-roofed building with a separate nursery and two mobile units. The school is situated in a traditional working class area and is set in grounds which include a large field and other green areas, most of which are unusable due to water logging. The school prides itself in offering many extra-curricular activities including musical, creative arts, sport and fitness activities. Children in Year 6 have the opportunity to spend a week at one of Sandwell's residential centres and all children are given opportunities for residential visits. The school has 'strong' links with the community, including the local quarry and a small engineering firm. Local and national charities are supported, such as Barnardos, Birmingham City Mission and Comic Relief.
