Background:
Wood Green High School is an oversubscribed, co-educational comprehensive school and specialist college of sport for pupils aged 11 to 18 years. The school was formed in 1968 by the amalgamation of Wednesbury Boy's High School (1924) and Wood Green county secondary modern school (1963). There are over 100 extra-curricular activities for students to take part in. A wide range of clubs and societies is maintained to cater for its pupils lively needs. Musical groups include:- orchestra, choir, brass band, music group, keyboard group and handbell groups. The school aims to create a happy, ordered and secure environment within which it can discover and nurture to the full the skills, aptitudes and abilities of each individual pupil.
