Background:

Aldridge is an 11-19 comprehensive school with specialist Science College status. The school has good facilities and a highly committed, professional staff. A programme of refurbishment of classrooms is making them bright and roomy. There are 11 laboratories, practice rooms and performance halls for music, purpose-built studio and a fully computerised library. For sports there are playing fields, two gymnasiums, sports hall and swimming pool. The school offers a full range of extra-curricular activities: artistic, sporting and musical. There are choirs, orchestras, wind bands and the opportunity to have free instrumental tuition. The school runs many sports teams. There are representative opportunities in football, hockey, netball, tennis, athletics, swimming and cross-country. The school offers a variety of visits and excursions to such places as Italy, France, Germany and Egypt. In addition, many departments undertake day visits and residential field visits. The school aims to ensure that the atmosphere of the school will be happy and purposeful, demanding yet caring, challenging but supportive.
