Background:
Elms Farm was built in 1954 as separate junior and infant schools, which amalagmated in 1984. It is housed in a 'precast concrete/flat roof construction' with 'extensive' grounds and its own playing field. In addition to 12 teaching classrooms there is a 'large' hall, library, computer suite, technology and science centre, a special needs room and separate dining room. The school has been awarded a certificate of distinction by Education Extra for 'outstanding extra curricular achievements'. It enjoys a 'very high success rate' at both local and district levels in soccer, netball and rounders. Pupils choos a children's charity to support each year, and an out of school club is sponsored by Cadburys.
