Background:
Burnt Tree Primary School is set in very attractive surroundings. It has approximately 190 children on roll between the ages of three and eleven. It is a local authority community school organised into individual year groups. The attractive classrooms have access to cloakrooms, toilets and educational equipment as well as work surfaces and water for practical activities. It has a wild garden, a large field as well as two playgrounds. In addition it has a well stocked resource area as well as a comprehensive collection of computer hardware and software. The school curriculum covers the following subjects: English, mathematics, science, information and communication technology, the humanities, the creative arts ' music, art, drama, dance, physical education, religious education, sex education and educational visits. The school aims to provide a safe, calm and stimulating environment in which every child feels valued and is able to recognise and appreciate the wide range of abilities and talents of other people.
