Background:
Established in 1862 as the Bridge Trust School for Boys and assuming its present name in 1890, the school has remained on its original inner-city site and from it's inception has served the educational needs of the local community and the City oif Birmingham. It is a popular and growing school with excellent resources, including good playing fields and sports facilities, newly built science laboratories, technology rooms, computer rooms and a dining and cooking block. It also has a strong commitment to the personal and social development of it's students and encourages them to take an active role in the management of school affairs. The students take part in several trips over a year, including fieldtrips and overseas trips to France, Austria and Germany. The school aims to provide a safe and pleasant environment for effective learning with equality of regards for all.
