There is a wealth of opportunity for children to engage in a range of activities. During a typical week there is a choice of some 40 clubs for children to participate in. These include everything from Jazz Band, Cross Country and Badminton to Art, Drama, Computers and Chess. School trips have included visits to Italy, Austria, France, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Russia. Children are encouraged to involve themselves in their community and a flourishing Charities Committee helps to raise funds. In addition, 24 children participate in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, and many others in Maths Challenges, the Borough Swimming and Athletic Championships, the Kielder Challenge, concerts and productions supported by the flourishing Young Arts Leader Award. There are also a variety of after-school sporting activities that pupils can opt for.
