Background:
Originally opened in 1835 next to the parish church, St Mary's The Mount Catholic Primary School has occupied its current accommodation since 1970. Its sports teams enter local leagues for football, netball, rounders and softball cricket, in addition to the Walsall Catholic partnership of schools leagues. The school has its own orchestra which practices after school, and children have the opportunity to play in assemblies, church services and concerts. A range of other after-school activities include chess and drama. Charity fundraising takes place every year.
