Background:
Opened nearly thirty years ago a few miles from the city centre, St Augustine's is surrounded by a mixture of council and private housing. Its own building is 'modern' and 'well-kept' and its large classrooms each have cloakrooms and toilets. Large playing fields surround the building and the school also has two large halls, one for juniors and one for infants. Pupils have the opportunity to participate in netball and football inter-school matches, and the fooball team in particular has achieved 'notable successes over the years'. There is also a 'developing' choir. The school maintains links with the community links, supports 'many' charities and is currently over-subscribed at Key Stage 2.
