Background:

Hollyhedge Primary School, which is part of the Sandwell Education Authority, is situated in a densely populated part of West Bromwich. The school'serves the Charlemont Farm, Millersdale and Bustleholme estates. Infant and junior children have their own playgrounds and halls for physical education and there is a large purpose-built gymnasium. The school provides opportunities for the children to learn musical instruments including brass and woodwind. Children can also join school choirs, which support school productions and take part in local musical festivals. The school arranges various educational and residential visits. The school has a parent teacher association called The Friends of Hollyhedge and there is a committee which meets regularly throughout the year to organise fundraising and social activities.
