Background:
Woodfield Junior School is a large junior school for boys and girls aged seven to 11 years old. The school has a purpose-built computer room which houses 20 networked multi-media systems. Each year group has a weekly session outdoors during which a variety of games and associated skills are taught. A programme of athletics activities is carried out in the summer term. The school has a strong tradition of instrumental tuition, in particular of the violin and cello, by teachers from the authority's music school. The school aims to provide a happy, stimulating, disciplined and caring environment in which the children's personal growth is fostered.
