Background:

Built in 1950, the school has since undergone 'major refurbishment' so that it is now 'the envy of most primary schools'. The site is 'extensive'. There is a 'bright' nursery, staffed by a teacher and nursery nurses and 'well equipped' including its own outdoor play area with sand-pit. There are also infant classrooms, a pottery kiln, a large hall and two dining rooms. The general office is near the 'beautiful' entrance, to be accessible to parents. On the top floor there are junior classrooms, a 'well stocked' library, parents' room, art room, television room, information and communications technology suite, music room, photographic dark room and a hall with 'excellent storage' facilities. Pheasey Park has a swimming pool on site with adjacent changing rooms. Outside, there is an environmental studies area, two large playgrounds and a field for sports activities. Each year all the children participate in a performance for parents. Pheasey Park's partnership with the local Community Association 'continues to flourish' with day and evening classes for adults and children. Currently the 'strong' Parent-Teacher's Association is raising money for a new adventure playground. 'The children respond well to learning in well ordered and attractive surroundings'.
