Background:

Opened in 1963 on outskirts of Sutton Coldfield; seven classrooms, kitchen area, art and craft area, recently-refurbished library and ICT suite, and an annexe used for after-school clubs. Large playing field next to building. Schools grounds being developed; new windows installed; also interactive whiteboards, in line with aim to become an ICT showcase. French offered to children from year three. Level of care is a particular strength: 'buddy' systems, 'playground pals', and 'worry boxes'. Wide range of sporting activities, both during and after school hours: football, hockey, tennis, cricket, netball, and tag rugby. Regular residential visits for year four and five pupils. Strong community links; community events include community tea and summer fair. Supports numerous local and national charities; works closely with local church and Rotary Club; well-supported parents' association. Sportsmark Gold; Basic Skills Quality Mark (2004); Investor in People status (2003); DfES achievement award (2002). 'Moor Hall aims to develop every child's abilities to the full, both in academic subjects and in terms of the development of the whole child.
