Background:

Arthur Terry is a much bigger than average secondary school. The school has a strong tradition of extra-curricular activities in which students are invited to express an interest. It became a Performing Arts College in September 2001 and this status enabled it to extend its facilities further. The school has now two drama studios, a dance studio, three music studios and six practice rooms. The school has extensive on-site facilities. It has a large sports hall, gym, fitness studio, netball and tennis courts, as well as playing fields, which are used for a number of sporting activities. The school enters a wide range of teams in local, regional and national competitions. The library resource centre is at the heart of the school curriculum and has been completely refurbished. The school has achieved so many awards, which includes Investor in People, Sportsmark award, National Primary Centre Award and Quality in Study Support. The school aims to maintain a disciplined, enthusiastic, safe, happy and caring community.
